Built for the extreme. Technology
Arctic Trucks builds commercial and tactical high performance extreme terrain vehicles based on its proven and award winning polar expedition vehicle technology
Built in, not up
Arctic Trucks extensively modifies the vehicle to keep the center of gravity as low as possible. A low center of gravity distributes the weight of the vehicle more evenly between the tires, helping to maintain traction over uneven ground. Driving over snow? Properly distributed weight minimizes ground pressure and promotes snow flotation, the key to mobility in deep snow.
Tires
Tire options for any application
Arctic Trucks partners with the preeminent specialty tire manufacturers to create custom tailored solutions for any terrain. Our flagship 44”x18” Arctic Trucks / Nokian snow tire is exclusively used on out XT lineup of trucks. This tire combines unmatched snow performance with excellent road manners and off-highway performance. With the ability to operate at as low as 2 PSI, the tire becomes a rolling belt, offering a comparable contact patch as a set of tracks with none of the complexity or performance limitations.
Suspension
Proprietary suspensions developed for your mission
Arctic Trucks develops our own multi-link suspension systems for greater suspension travel and articulation, and partners with the best spring and shock manufacturers to insure that each suspension is well controlled without compromising on-road performance. Commonly offered lift suspensions do more harm than good, increasing the vehicle’s center of gravity without the benefit of increased travel.
The result? A truck with excessive body roll but without the ability to maintain contact and traction.
Structural Enhancements
Chassis, axles, and suspension reinforcements for off-road durability
The body and frame are optimized according to the size of tires and the model requirements. The XT line gets the most enhancements with the original front section of the chassis and almost all parts of the front suspension and steering system are reinforced. The rear suspension framework receives the same level of attention, and all vehicles are equipped with Arctic Trucks fender flares for that iconic look.
The front and rear axles are re-geared to accommodate the large tires, enhancing performance and maintaining optimized fuel economy. Differential lockers ensure superior traction and control in challenging conditions.
CTIS
Set the optimal tire pressure for each terrain with the press of a button
Select Arctic Trucks models are fitted with a Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) that is connected to the high capacity air system and in-cabin control box. Go from highway mode to any of the preset off-road-modes, and back, with a click of a button. The in-cabin control of tire pressure is not just a convenience and time saver - In extreme weather, staying in the vehicle is a safety issue.
